UDP-Glucose-Pyrophosphorylase, die Bildung von UDP-Glucose (Nucleosiddiphosphatzucker) aus Glucose-1-phosphat und UTP katalysierendes Enzym: Glucose-1-phosphat + UTP
UDP-Glucose + PPi. Das von den zwei äußeren Phosphorylgruppen des UTP stammende Pyrophosphat (PPi) wird in vivo durch eine anorganische Pyrophosphatase zu Orthophosphat hydrolysiert, wodurch die Gesamtreaktion praktisch irreversibel abläuft.
